Steps to complete this dragon craft activity
We offer two versions for the roller base, depending on the child's age:
- For the painted version (+3 years):
Paint the outer surface of the roller in the desired color. - For the Décopatch version (5+ years):
Tear pieces of Décopatch paper (approximately 1 to 2 cm) in the desired color.
Apply vinyl glue to the roller, cover with Decopatch paper, then cover with another layer of vinyl glue.
Once the roller is dry, let's move on to the next steps:
- Glue the eyes onto 2 medium-sized pom-poms;
- on the roll, attach the “eye” pom-poms and the mini pom-poms that form the nostrils, using the double-sided adhesive dots;
- Cut strips 1.5 cm wide and 15 cm long from the tissue paper;
- Glue the strips of tissue paper using vinyl glue inside the roll, under the dragon's nostrils (on about half of the roll).
To make the dragon's flames erupt, blow hard inside the roller!
The symbol and origin of the carnival dragon for men
Often used for Chinese New Year, the dragon symbolizes luck, wisdom, and power. The dragon is the oldest legendary mythological creature in the world. Used in all its forms—books, films—the dragon has fascinated people since antiquity.

For the carnival, the dragon is an imaginary creature that can be represented however you wish: with or without wings, with or without legs, like a snake etc… Let your imagination run wild, and make way for the most beautiful colorful dragons!
