Follow the steps to make a Santa Claus in his chimney
Now that all our materials are ready, it's time to get crafting and transform our... toilet paper roll shaped like Santa Claus !
First, we'll tackle the chimney:
- Take a sheet of red paper, place it so that it goes around the roll, in order to trace its width, then add 2 cm at the top and bottom.
- Next, cut out a rectangle according to these dimensions.
- Come and draw your bricks using a black marker, start with horizontal lines spaced 1.5 cm apart, then draw new vertical lines to create a wall.
- Stick your sheet onto the toilet paper roll, fold the excess inwards, for a nice finish.
- To give your fireplace a wintry look, you can add some snow. You'll need a sheet of white felt; trace around the roll to determine the size and create "waves" to mimic the melting effect of snow. Glue the snow to the top of the fireplace.
Now it's Santa's turn:
- On a red sheet of paper, have fun cutting out the different visible parts of Santa Claus: the legs, the feet, the hands, the sack and the hat.
- Colour the feet with the black marker, you can also cut them directly out of a black sheet of paper.
- Using the white sheet, cut out the remaining elements: the fur lining of the shoes and gloves, a drawstring for the hood, the band around the hat and its pompom.
- Combine the different elements with your strong glue.
- It's up to you to imagine your Cardboard Santa Claus in bizarre positions: head first, feet and hood sticking out, or going out with hands and bonnet hoisted out.
And there you have it, we've reached the end of the DIY cardboard Santa Claus !
